Now that I've finally learned that Arthur Kirkland is the actual name of UK from Axis Powers Hetalia (and his younger brother is Peter = Sealand), I have this UNCONTROLABLE need to add either of them (if not both) to my cosplay list. Why? Because funny as it is, my last name is Kirkland! And how often do you run across a character with your same last name?! We're practically (not really) related!

There is more I want to update, but I just thought I needed to blurt out that little co-winki-dink.

The comic:
Now that the entries are in and judged, the comic will be printed and available for purchase around the middle of August. So be on the look-out for it.

I was truly thrilled at each and every entry I received. I give a big THANK YOU to all entrants! You should be proud of the hard work that you put in your entry because it certianly showed. And it made it all the more tough to judge the winners. (I wish I could just give everyone first place. XD)

But anyway, this is what you guys were waiting for:

1st place receives a free signed copy, piece of art delievered to them, and their art printed in the magazine.

I was impressed at how well was able to emulate the style as well as the attitudes of the characters in her piece. Not that I was looking for a replica of my style, but for some reason, the stylistic qualities seemed to really impress me in this piece.
*just a reminder for myself - prize subject = winter

2nd will recieve a work of art (delievered to them) and have their art printed in the comic.
There was a 3-way tie for 2nd place with (told you that the choosing was hard):

I was impressed by the background achieved(which made it unique amoung the entries) as well as the use of color. It was an overall beautifuly rendered pic.


When I first saw this entry, it made me giggle. True brotherly love right here. (and I always love 's unique style. It's definately all her own.) Prize pic = Byakuya.


I liked the concept that developed for her piece. It was well thought-out. Being twins, I love the idea of "being one". The idea was well expressed in the pic and a good way of representing the characters. Prize pic = Izuru Bloopers

And since there weren't too many entries, I decided to be a push-over and award 3rd place to the remaining entries. They'll get a chibi pic delivered to them (just a return for the hard work and for simply choosing to enter the contest) and their art printed in the comic.
